The author brings up how not everyone learns the same. She also brings up that there are many different ways to learn. I completely agree with this because I believe that each student has their own way of learning. I find it helpful to students when teaching music for them to hear it to help them know either a pitch reference or maybe just how a rythem goes.

Erwin- Personal qualities of succesful music teachers.
In this article the author says all great teachers need to love young children to be great teachers. I dont agree with this at all. You can not love young children and be a great high school teacher and work with teenager instead of young children. I feel the only thing you need to be a great teacher is you must love your subject and love people in general. No just young people. If you dont love the subject your teaching you can not teach it effectively. If you dont love people you can not get through to the people you are trying to teach.

Leonard-Qualities that make some directors outstanding
I agree with Leonard when he says that the director must maintain regular contact with every student and and every parent. This way the students will know you care about them and feel more confident. The parents will also know you are interested in how the individual student is doing and you care if they are succeding. I also agree how preparation is a huge thing. If you go into a class not knowing what your doing no student will respect you. Making you lose your athority and losing control in the classroom.

Thompson-What we learn along the way
I enjoyed when Holder said how just acknologing the custodians in the school by just saying thanks or bringing oranges, can get many things done like the band room being cleaned or chairs being set up. I guess I never thought about how just a simple thank you can mean so much to someone who doesn't really get recognized much. Many of the writers in this article bring up how important relationships are. If your going to be in a career with the same people your whole life, I believe it is very improtant to make good relationships so you are not surrounded by people you dont like for 35 years plus.
